Charles brings over 35 years of racing at the highest levels of professional racing, race car and engine development, and race operations. Starting from age 13, Charles got his start in a machine shop. This parlayed into mechanic and driving opportunities in drag cars ranging from brackets to supercharged alcohol, and even nitro funny cars. He was the west coast regional sales manager for SuperShops, the largest retail performance centers in the country. From there, he was general manager for world renowned engine builder, Sonny Leonard, where he helped develop the power plants for world champions around the world in drag racing, offshore boats, swamp buggies, sprint cars, monster trucks (Grave Digger), and helped design, and build the SB2 head program for NASCAR, as well as the heads and blocks that are still used by nearly all the top engine manufacturers worldwide. Later, using his racing background, Charles became a nationally recognized attorney assisting the automotive aftermarket and racing communities. He can be found every year at the PRI and SEMA shows where he assists in the rules making for numerous racing sanctioning bodies including NHRA, SCTA, and NASCAR. For the last 10 years, Charles has parked his own racing endeavors to focus on racing with his son Jacob. After the success in kart racing, it is time for Jacob and his father to take the next step into professional level road racing.
